I don't normally pay much attention on whether skincare products are Ndue or not, simply because my skin actually needs some oil to a certain extent. Why am I drawn into purchasing ridiculously expensive BB cream? I love it because it evens out my skin tone with less than a pump, it's not oily and kept my skin soft.
Transforming Cream SPF 30 has fragrance, so I recommend you to do a patch test before making a purchase if you have a fragrance sensitivity. Other than that, it smells just like how you would expect from La Prairie ; not too perfumey, aromatic or floral. My nose is exceptionally sensitive to the scent that I can't actually use some of natural skincare products as they give me a headache and nausea.
However, I've been doing great with the Transforming Cream SPF 30, which is indeed a good news as the scent doesn't last long either: I don't normally pay much attention on whether skincare products are oil-free or not, simply because my skin actually needs some oil to a certain extent. In case you are new to the brand, La Prairie 's oil-free moisturisers may not feel very much like typical oil-free products from other brands.
I'm finally very glad to tell you that Transforming Cream SPF 30 is great for those with normal to oilier skin types or even for people who prefer a semi-matte natural finish without looking too dry or matte. Having said that, I've experienced that application can be a little tricky whether you put on a heavy or lightweight moisturiser underneath, or even without any moisturisers.
You can use the brush that comes with the cream, or your own brush, but I've noticed that it's very difficult to apply the universally recommended amount for proper sun protection. If you want to use the Transforming Cream SPF 30 as part of your main suncare regime, I suggest you try with your finger tips instead of the brush like how I've been doing.
It never irritated my eyes once till now except the very first time when I accidentally applied it very close to my eyelashes: I only have a minor dark circle issue luckily, so I could get away with the Transforming Cream SPF 30 without using any concealer. It doesn't cover fully, but it certainly gives pretty good natural coverage. If you have heavy dark circles, then you will need an extra concealer.
That actually applies the same to face as it doesn't have much coverage. This is expected as it wasn't launched as a foundation, but as a suncare and tinted moisturiser hybrid. As a tinted moisturiser, I'd say that it gives quite nice light to medium coverage and pretty good longevity.
It certainly isn't as sheer as the company's discontinued previous tinted moisturisers. As you already get a natural polished look from the Transforming Cream SPF 30, I don't generally like to put anything on top other than a tinted lip balm. Once the cream is applied, it almost feels like it forms a very fine film.
Meaning, further rubbing or patting can actually makes skin look cakey. I would certainly avoid using any puff for this reason. I mentioned earlier that the cream is more suitable for normal to oilier skin, my normal dehydrated skin has been in need of more hydration as the weather has become colder. Although it was sticker shock. More reviews by mrmp. Why am I drawn into purchasing ridiculously expensive BB cream? That is a million dollar question.
I bought this because I wanted to compare this product with the skin caviar concealer and foundation. This is a BB cream which is technically lighter and sheer-er than a foundation. I am in a shade Nude which is the closest match among the other shades. I prefer BB cream for daily use because my main concern has always been to even out my skin tone. Sometimes I have redness going on but not to the point of overly visible. The product comes in this very sleek bottle with a pump again la prairie always has the most beautifully designed packaging.
The texture is creamy but not as creamy as foundation. It comes with a buffing brush that the booklet said you can use if you want a sheer-er coverage. I opted with my own buffing brush and beauty blender. I like how the beauty blender gives a sheer-er coverage. It sets into the skin beautifully. The finish is very natural however this is not a mattifying bb cream and a light medium coverage. The application is pretty fast and it blends effortlessly.
It is hydrating since this is a skin-care infused BB cream. However this product doesn't contain oil free formula. However there is one major drawback, ridiculously expensive. This is by far the most expensive BB cream I have ever purchased. More reviews by raluko. Maybe I have been spoiled by my top notch Japanese foundations, so my expectations are too high? The scent took a while to dissipate and it gave me one of those sharp headaches you get when you smell a heady perfume.
Hardly goes up to medium. If you have major imperfections, definitely need to invest in a good concealer. At that price I would expect more, a lot more. If you have that much cash to throw around, go for Suqqu. The finish on their foundations is perfection and they last. More reviews by r4j15v. Okay, so here's my story: Was in a serious car accident that completely destroyed my nose and resulted in having to have three layers of my facial and hand skin surgically removed in order to get all of the glass out.
I'm a guy, so this situation is a bit more dicey for wearing anything that resembles makeup. I've tried many, many products on my face from stick and cream foundations as well as mineral powder foundations, to liquid formulas. I historically avoided the tinted moisturizer kind of product because I always assumed that it wouldn't provide enough coverage to even out my skin tone and cover scars. Please take it from a man--read: My face looks natural and actually luminous--which isn't a word I've previous ever thought of using in regards to my face.
People have recently told me that they wouldn't have guessed that I had ever been in such an accident. In short, this product has been a life changer for me. Application took me a few times to get the hang of it, and now, I'm extremely grateful. The SPF 30 makes this product all the better. Thank you La Prairie! Does not show on your skin, but covers the imperfections. More reviews by Caffeinatedchoc. I love this tinted moisturizer so much! It's oil-free and I have used it for a week on my beach holiday in tropical Asia. It gives a sheer coverage but it can be build up to a medium if you pay more on. It doesn't turn me oily even under the hot sun. The cream lasted for a good 8 hours on me.
I love it because it evens out my skin tone with less than a pump, it's not oily and kept my skin soft. My partner even commented that my face smells nice! It's very pricey, but definitely one that works. More reviews by EvaVic. This is a very elegant coloured day-cream that has a very pretty and natural finish. Comes in 4 shades that should match most skin tones.
